The city of Northwood was founded in 1858 and is located along Highway 65. The city is located between Mason City and Albert Lea, MN. It is roughly 20 miles north of Mason City and a little over 15 miles south of Albert Lea. Northwood has approximately 2000 residents with roughly 900 households.
This county seat has quite a few businesses and entertainment options. You don’t have to leave town to get your groceries as you can pick them up at the local market or convenience stores/gas stations.
